Position: Service Manager Reports To: General Manager or Branch Manager Compensation: Salary Classification: Exempt
Description of Duties: Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the service department as well as a group of route based Service and Sales Technicians (SST) performing weekly hygiene services to established customers while increasing revenue through sales and customer retention.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Effectively manage the service department and assigned employees.
Schedule daily work flow of SST’s.
Appropriately address all service related issues and concerns.
Conduct work performance feedback sessions with SST’s.
Train and develop SST’s through routine field work and assessments.
Manage the day-to-day operational performance of SST’s.
Conduct Quality Assurance inspections at least twice per year on all customers not visited by QAAM.
Advise General Manager of disciplinary issues and actions involving SST’s.
Monitor daily invoice policies and procedures.
Ensure routes are consolidated and efficient.
Provide direction and guidance to SST’s in sales performance and management.
Achieve budgeted sales goals of service department through development of sales opportunities within customer base and adjacent businesses.Ensure professional weekly servicing of customers.
Manage daily and weekly inventory balancing.
Complete all other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Job Requirements
3-10 years management experience of front line employees.
Prior sales experience and solid understanding of the sales process.
Ability to train, motivate, and encourage high performance standards.
Solid understanding of front-end customer service.
Solid understanding of the sales process and ability to train SST on up selling of products and services.
Complete all required training.
Be able to work within Swisher’s standards for developing personnel.
Demonstrate good communication, organizational, administrative and time-management skills.
Display a genuine aim-to-please attitude. Smiling, eye contact, and bonding with customers are essential.
Be in good physical condition with good manual dexterity to handle high-volume work for up to 10 hours.
Be able to move, carry, and lift at a very fast pace (at least 50 pounds).
Be capable of using all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies.
Have reliable transportation and arrive to work and meetings on time as scheduled.
Be honest, trustworthy, and dependable, and demonstrate a high degree of integrity.
Previous route experience preferred.
2-4 year degree preferred.
Compliance with all company rules, policies and procedures.
Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
