Position: Sales and Service Technician (SST) Reports To: Service Manager Compensation: FWW Classification: Non-Exempt
Description of Duties: Provide weekly high quality hygiene services and products in a designated route based territory while increasing revenue through sales, customer retention and receivable management.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Follow route guidelines as established by Service Manager.
Perform consistent and professional weekly service of customers.
Daily ensure accuracy of all invoice transactions including pricing, signatures, and delivery.
Maintain supply of products to ensure proper compliance with contracted services and expectations of customers. Keep service kit clean and stocked
Achieve annual sales targets by analyzing customer’s needs and requirements and offering products and services to meet those needs.
Up-sell customers with new products and services as they become available.
Effectively communicate payment shortfalls with customer and facilitate payment recovery efforts (A/R collection).
Retain customer base within route territory and secure customer relationships formally through service agreement.
Maintain route cards on all customers in route notebook.
Work with management daily and weekly with inventory balancing.
Complete all other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Job Requirements
Complete all training required.
Work within Swisher’s standards for quality, speed, and cleanliness.
Ability to read and follow directions while using all Swisher manuals, safety materials, training materials, and bulletin boards.
Ability to communicate effectively with the customer in English.
Demonstrate solid understanding of the sales process.
Demonstrate good communication, organizational, administrative and time-management skills.
Display a genuine aim-to-please attitude. Smiling, eye contact, and bonding with customers are essential.
Be in good physical condition with good manual dexterity to handle high-volume work for up to 10 hours.
Be able to move, carry, and lift at a very fast pace (at least 50 pounds).
Be capable of using all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies.
Have reliable transportation and arrive to work and meetings on time as scheduled.
Be able to handle monetary transactions without error as required.
Be honest, trustworthy, and dependable, and demonstrate a high degree of integrity.
Previous route and sales experience helpful.
Ability to communicate fluently with customer.
Compliance with all company rules, policies and procedures.
Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
