Position Summary

This position will have a thorough understanding and experience with utilization and implementation of top tier RF-based WMS systems, strategies, and policies, in a warehousing environment as well as direct experience leveraging advanced scheduling and planning tools and technology. Position will provide WMS application and planning leadership to manage the demand signal of a large (highly seasonal) retail distribution center. Specifically, daily responsibilities of this position will be managing local system performance in collaboration with system administration/DBA resources, maintaining IT standards, setting/scheduling tactical plans, developing optimization strategies, and executing WMS wave planning to meet client order fulfillment requirements. This process would include owning the alignment of supply and demand (order mgmt), leading/participating in the daily local team S&OP meetings, establishing and managing operational constraints, WMS system & process SOP variable manipulation, and effective communication between the planning leadership team to drive process optimization to effectively balance meeting client demand requirements and ensuring efficient operational execution.

Key Accountabilities

· Daily operational WMS wave planning and scheduling for outbound order fulfillment for a retail distribution warehouse. Position will be part of the local mgmt leadership team to drive operational tactical planning for customer order fulfillment.
· Position will be involved in training and continuous process improvement activities.
· Develop, lead, and facilitate WMS application training for all inbound and outbound processes.
· Develop process innovation and continuous improvement to optimize system performance & site productivity.

Education/Experience/Skills/Required Qualifications:

· (2)+ years warehousing experience and/or training required in a similar capacity. Preferred three (3) or more years direct 3PL/4PL professional experience in a similar capacity. A Bachelors degree is required with a preference for a degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or MIS (Management Information System
· Experience with PkMS, RedPrairie, HighJump EXE, or SAP tools a plus.
· Prior experience inside the tactical planning process in the supply chain is a plus.
· Experience with MRP, JIT and other manufacturing tactical planning strategies a plus. Direct experience as a warehouse and/or manufacturing planning resource is a plus.
· Experience with Lean or TPS a plus. Six Sigma, APICS CPIM, CSCP Certification, training in Lean experience and/or certification preferred.

· Experience with utilization and deployment of S&OP processes preferred.
· Experience with network LAN administration, IT LAN hardware, DBA professional experience, and knowledge of IT infrastructure and network software solutions will be a plus. Oracle and Windows training/certifications a plus.
· Experience with RF deployment in a warehouse or with Symbol or LXE hardware a plus. Experience with Cisco wireless technology & hardware a plus. Advanced knowledge and experience of PC hardware, software, networking WAN/LAN systems, and database systems.

· Planning and scheduling of the customer demand. Tactical planning support resource for the operational leadership team. Needs to be very familiar with demand planning tactics, S&OP, manufacturing scheduling sciences, operational management sciences, forecasting techniques, optimization, directed work, etc. Manage daily constraints, demand, etc. – and release “optimized” wave plans to reduce costs and meet customer service levels.
· Local WMS site supervisor. Owner of WMS/RF training programs, continuous improvement, site operational policies, strategies, etc. This resource will also need to have process expertise to then be able to work in the planning/strategy role with the WMS to set and adjust WMS policies, strategies, slotting, labor management, directed work – to optimize process/productivity.
· Key owner and lead in process continuous improvement in the facility (i.e. quality assurance).
· Capability to write reports, extract data, work with large databases, etc. This data would then support team tactical forecasting and operational planning, metric reporting, continuous improvement, etc. Position will serve as local superuser for WMS system (RedPrairie).
